Mail robbery near Johnson Creek by two highwaymen

Last Saturday night a mail coach between Greenwood and Penticton was held up at Johnson Creek by two masked bandits. They forced the driver to dump the mail, escaped with one sack of Greenwood and Grand Forks registered mail, while the other sacks were recovered by freighters. The thieves likely sought bank returns and valuable packages and may have crossed the boundary two miles away.
