Brookyn Exchange Hotel Burns at Lakeside Town
Last Sunday night a fire destroyed the frame Brookyn Exchange hotel on the Brooklyn lakeside. Shaw and Shaw’s feed store adjoining was also ruined. No lives were lost though there was no insurance and no way to fight the blaze. The two buildings suffered near total losses estimated at about $1,300.

Church Site Selected in Cascade for Presbyterian Building
A site is chosen for a Presbyterian church in Cascade on lot 4 block 85 near First Avenue and Fourth Street. Committee members Ferguson Matheson McRae Willcox Miss Cameron and Rev J McCoy selected the lot donated by the townsite owners. Construction will begin once funds are arranged. Nearby, business at the Columbia Hotel Dining Parlor reports improving service with meals at 35 cents.
