Cascade City Power Project Promises 10000 HP

Under development, Cascade City builds a 400 foot by 50 foot dam with a 16 by 13 by 1000 foot flume and tunnel. Two 8% foot diameter iron pipes carry water 2000 feet to water wheels with a 156 foot head. Estimated plant cost 500000. Lake 18 miles long, 1 to 3 miles wide. Prospects bright for mining districts Boundary and Christina Lake.

The Simplon tunnel project started November 13, 1899 as work on a 12.5 mile long railway tunnel linking Italy with neighboring regions proceeds. It aims to finish in five and a half years at a cost of 13 413 500 dollars, promising to cut 434 miles from the Paris Milan journey and boost Christina Lake area as a summer resort.
