Small Pox Quarantine Enforced Across Border

With no regular official present, Officer D J Darraugh enforces quarantine rules for small pox along the border. Indians crossing from the American side are prohibited. Midway leaders urge the provincial government to build a wagon road to connect Princeton in Similkameen with Peachland on Okanagan Lake. Sandner and Johnson plan Christina Lake shingle mill

Chas. Sandner and Ole Johnson undertake a large project at Christina Lake. A steam powered shingle mill with capacity for 45 000 shingles daily will raft product down Christina Lake and creek to Cascade for local sale or rail shipment. They will use a steam launch to navigate the lake. There should be strong demand for the output.

C. J. Eckstorm, formerly a Cascade hotelkeeper, arrived this week after a trip to the eastern states, reporting his return just before the recent fire incident.
