Bonded for seventy five thousand on Monnier Earle claim

The Monnier Earle Mountain View claim on Huckleberry Mountain four miles south west of Cascade was bonded for $75,000. The work so far shows surface ore in paying grade and indicates merit for investors. Nearby, the Mayknap claim near the wagon road shows a ten foot quartz and sulfide lead with $12.40 gold and $3.20 silver per six feet.

Christmas Tree Festivities at Cascade Church

Christmas Eve program at Cascade Presbyterian church drew a large audience. A musical and literary show preceded a gift distribution for children with keepsake tokens. Refreshments followed as attendees enjoyed a social period. Little Guy Woodruff won honors with his recitation titled Keeps.

Local Christina Lake fishing industry could grow strong

The Record thanks Mr W Forrest of Gladstone for bolianees from Christina lake. Ottawa has promised to stock the lake with a more marketable fish, a move hoped to be fulfilled. Proper stocking would build a profitable industry bringing thousands of dollars into circulation locally.

Christmas Dinner at the Cosmopolitan Hosts Guests

On Christmas day G. K. Stocker entertained about six Veena visitors from Grand Forks who arrived the night before for the Christmas tree exercises. They shared a Christmas dinner at the Cosmopolitan with others invited, fourteen seated at a well loaded table. Toasts were given and a jolly time enjoyed before the guests were escorted to the depot for a bon voyage send off.

Boundary Creek District Receives 45 Saloon Licenses

At a Grand Forks meeting of the Liquor License Board 45 applicants were heard for Boundary Creek licenses. Thirty three were renewals, seven new licenses went to previously licensed houses, and four licenses created new houses. New hotels licensed stand at Boundary Falls Hartford Junction Bannock City and a site between Trail and Rossland.

Snowshoe Mine Expands Work Force and Drilling Capacity

The Snowshoe mine currently employs 35 men and plans to hire more once its new compressor and drill plant are installed. R A Brown of the Suneet mine is said to have secured eastern capitalists to support development of his large God save the-Kitchener mine.
