Bruce White, famed Slocan mine owner, purchased interests in the First Thought Annex Defender and Homestake near Pierre Lake for 25000 with ten percent down. The ledge runs 60 to 90 feet wide and carries $5 to $10 in gold per ton. Harry Williams to manage development as of now.

Land allotment shifts northwest farm lands to whites

Aborigines already own allotments with about 200 farms taken leaving 500 to draw ranches. Across the north half about 1,500,000 acres will narrow to roughly 56,000 acres for natives. The rest opens to homestead entry for whites including prime farming lands and timber reserves. Allotting to finish this fall with remaining land open within 90 days after locations are filed.
