Fire destroys farm house near Carthage
Frank Reddick owned the home occupied by Peter Siler about one and a half miles east of Carthage. The two story frame house built by Albert Henley burned Thursday night. Water was unavailable due to a fire in the summer kitchen. Siler lost nearly all furniture and provisions. no insurance except Reddick with 1500.

Accidental Injury From Tank Wagon Tragedy Near Clark School
Last Thursday afternoon near the Clark school house Lindley Clark, grandson of Mrs Mary R. Clark, was struck by a tank wagon trailing behind Rufus and Walter Johnson. He suffered three broken ribs and other injuries after falling from the trailer as he tried to move for his brother. The Johnsons did not notice him until the wheels passed over him. Dr. Coffin attended, and the boy is reported to be recovering well.
