Catt Couple Mark 20th Wedding Anniversary
Last Sunday October 31, Mr and Mrs Harvey Catt celebrated twenty years of marriage with a surprise gathering hosted by their parents and friends. Guests brought baskets for a wedding feast and gifted many pieces of China, including a China gold band dinner set given to Mrs Catt by her mother, a family treasure nearly a century old.

Local Church Events and Visitation Highlights
Amos Kenworthy attended the morning service while Frank Finney and his wife visited the latter’s parents at Westland on Sunday. J Oscar Parker returned from Earlham for a short visit with his mother. Rev Gary preached here on Sunday using a portion of the III of Revolution as the basis for remarks. A elocutionary entertainment drew many from here to Westland Saturday night. Levi Jessup and family of Carthage plus Irvin Binford and wife spent Sunday with Frank White and wife. Rev Micajah Morris and James Outland led meetings at Switch school house last week. The Pitts schoolhouse burn was reported. Pitts has a few days leisure. Rev Mary Nichols held meetings here last week. audience small due to lack of familiarity. Halloween caused fun west of Mooresville at the expense of Henley Stanley and Levi Jessup among others. Somerville and a friend are canvassing for a Bible Panorama and are living at J P Winslow’s.

Obituary of Edward H Newsom from Arlington Indiana 1867 1897
Edward H Newsom was born near Carthage Indiana on April 24 1867. He married Theodocia Tribbey on December 29 1896. He died at his home in Arlington Indiana on October 23 1897 aged 30 years 5 months 29 days. He leaves a wife parents a brother and five sisters. He was temperate industrious economical and kind spoken with a quiet open mind. He earned respect as a farmer trader and business man and many mourn his loss.
