Straw Board Plant Reopens and Expands at Carthage
The Straw Board resumed work on the 12th after a seven week shutdown to substitute two Wick Bros. boilers for old horizontals. New 12 foot by 40 foot boiler towers with auto stokers and water signals promise higher steam efficiency. If successful two more boilers will be added, old units discarded, with new steel boiler rooms and a paper mill annex under construction. Ed N. Hiil leads the project for United States Board & Paper Co. at Cincinnati, seen as a solid investment and right execution.
