Lyons Station Couple Wed to Rev Gillespie in Simple Ceremony

John Miller a well to do farmer of Lyons Station and Mrs Margaret Hill were married last Wednesday evening by Rev Gillespie. The ceremony was witnessed by their children and grandchildren and followed by a turkey supper. The couple will reside at Lyons Station with the best wishes of the Record and many friends.

Bear onstage looses during Mexican Pete show shocks town

Witnesses report a grand finale featuring a bear dog and man turned chaotic when the bear broke loose. Chairs toppled crowds fled as the bear and monkey clashed with a dog amid the stage turmoil. Paramedics noted bruises while townsfolk recalled the panicked scramble and improvised escapes.

Corn Yields Reported By Local Growers

Squire Safe Stevens reports a sample corn crop near the city yielding about fifty bushels per acre despite a dry summer. Hancock Democrat notes J P Winslow’s 30 acre Blue River First Bottom field averaging 65 to 70 bushels per acre for 7 to 8 years and this year remains as good.

Rush County Teachers Association to Meet in Rushville

The seventh annual session of the Rush County Teachers Association will convene in the assembly room of the Rushville courthouse on Friday and Saturday, November 29 and 30.
