Church Wrecked in Gas City Storm
During a Sunday morning storm the Baptist church in Gas City was badly wrecked. Pastor Rev Jaminson preached as the crash occurred, but calm actions by him and Mayor Brashear helped the congregation escape unharmed. John Ward and John Sparks narrowly escaped as the storm struck. Sparks’ team and carriage were crushed when the southwest cupola collapsed. The horses were likely to be killed. Inside, one man fainted and several were injured.
