The New Flour Mill Near Carthage

Mr C G Clark of Cave City Kentucky arrived last week and contracted Richmond City Mill works to install modern milling machinery. The three story 40 by 36 building will produce about 50 barrels per day. Frank Tweedy supervises erection and work is underway. The mill aims to be ready for the next wheat crop and Clark plans to move his family to Carthage after settling affairs in Kentucky.

S. and S. O. Home Band Delights Carthage Audience

Last Friday evening the S and S O Home Band performed at School Hall for Elwood Hill Post G A B. Despite bad weather the crowd was large. Highlights included vocal and violin solos by Miss Kittie Palmer and Miss Mollie Kiehl, a bass solo by Prof. A H Graham, and instrumental pieces by George Winter and Russell Twichell. The band shown skill with difficult selections and received hearty applause. Afterward Post members hosted the musicians with ice cream and cake at Odd Fellows block, marking a warm community reception.

W. F. M. A. Meeting May Quarterly Program

The W F M A holds its annual meeting next Sunday afternoon at 2 30 with a program including quartets solos recitations and children exercises. Cars progress through Carthage Greenfield Knightstown and interspersed items feature Edith Hunt Susie Elliott Esther Winslow Mattie Binford and others. All are cordially invited.
