Local Town Board Reorganizes After Vote Count
After the Monday vote tally the Town Board of Trustees met in regular session and organized with Clarkson Gause as president and Thomas E. Hill and Philander Weaver as street commissioners. Alonzo Kizer and Jesse F. Tweedy were named fire wardens and a petition signed by numerous citizens urged reconsideration of leasing the old school lot for hitching.

Coffin Sentenced Eight Years For Bank Wrecking
The Supreme Court affirmed the Indiana district court ruling against Francis A Coffin convicting him of complicity in wrecking the Indianapolis National Bank. Coffin aided Theodore P Haughey by overdrawing accounts and borrowing beyond lawful limits with worthless security. The bank suspended July 24 1893, and Coffin must serve his term in prison.
