Rushville high school defeated Shortridge high school of Indianapolis 3 to 1 with Mc Guire in the box. The 1906 baseball guide lists Jesse Ruby of Carthage as 17th in batting among 93 batters, with 99 hits in 374 at bats and a .264 average over 102 games. Ruby tied for first in outfield with Davis of Cedar Rapids, and his 205 put outs with 4 errors yield a .980 fielding percentage. Carthage High was defeated 9 to 3 at New Castle. Bundy and Stanley formed the battery with Beher at third.
