Students at Frog Pond School held a Friday event with a dinner where all enjoyed the meal and did justice to the food. John Jamison plans to move from John Leisure’s farm to Ray Morgan’s farm southwest of Knightstown. John Leisure, J. F. Leisure and Noah Leisure visited Rushville on Saturday. Ethel Earnest and her sister visited Albert Earnest on Sunday. Sg. M. Whitton traded for a pair of wales last week.
Miss Grace Tyner of Knightstown has moved her millinery hair goods hosiery and fancy work stock across the street second door west of Public Square and she is addressing solicited customers.
Charlo ttesville society notes show Orvel Cary from Pennville as guest of Jesse Rutey. Several locals including Mildred Lane in poor health and Mrs. Cox improving after illness. Clergy Rev Lizzie Ralston returns from Fairmount. Traveled visits include Delbert Cox from Scott County with Dr Cox and wife, Melvin Fort and wife visiting daughter Mrs Ernest Lane, Joan Brittenham of Strauzhns visiting sister Mrs George Benjamin, Rev Earl Nafizger from Logansport calling on friends en route from Florida, Mrs Joan Patterson recovering from measles. Additional visits by Roger Clark and family from Indianapolis, Mrs 8 Staley from Marple Valley accompanying sister Mrs Asa Lampe to Carthage to see sister Mrs John Butler who is very sick, and Mr and Mrs Ernest Ramsey of Mooresville visiting relatives locally.

Ladies Aid Society served dinner. Knights town play Merchant of Venice by Jesse Raley with local actor. Lorenzo Forbes of Indianapolis guest of Robt Gilbreath Monday. Wesley Lineback and family hosted Indianapolis guests. J T Barret and family at Virgil Williams Sunday. Mrs Lewis Lineback visited Carthage Tuesday. Geo Benjamin spent Sunday with relatives in Knightstown. Samuel Shultz family visiting Richmond. Starlcn White moved to farm west of town. Court of inquiry in Feb 23 Curtis Millikan assault case. Millikan to prosecute. call for justice. Charlottsville liquor issue criticized. Fletcher LeMay visiting daughter near Shirley. Willard Lorre bought Miles Cook property. Cook at Westland. A Greenfield Republican telegram from United Press asks if the paper seeks estimating contracts for the Greenfield Harrison trolley line. The Rushville to Greenfield route via Carthage would open a broad region seeking rail or electric service, with letters circulating as the latest push.
Elizabeth Siler daughter of George and Evalin Brosius born May 14 in Stash County Indiana married John Siler September 24 126 to them were born two daughters Oren Souders and Mrs M F Lovers with their father and sister Miss Mary Brosius. She was a charter member of the Carthage Congregation and a valued worker. She died March 2 at age 53 years 9 months 22 days after a lifetime of Christian service.
The Christian Helpers express deep sorrow at the death of Mrs John Siler and commend her gentle voice spiritual thoughts and earnest faith. They extend sympathy to her husband and daughters and order a copy of these resolutions sent to the bereaved husband and entered in the record. Signed by Mars. Mrs. Murray Parker is on the sick list. Henry Heywood was in Greenfield one day last week. Rev. Jared Binford and wife attended church here Sunday and dined with Charles Winslow. Murray Parker was in Rushville one day last week. Howard Parker and Guy Junkensen are recovering from the measles. Morris Binford was called on QC. M. Brown's near Greenfield Monday this week.
About 49 guests gathered at Mr and Mrs C V Stephens home on a Wednesday night in costumes from school days. Teacher Harry Wall oversaw a lively class with paper wads and a blackboard lesson sorting jumbled city names. Y Stephens played a Dutch boy while Rev J I Sent M L Marson and Prof E A Lanning of the School Board made their regular visit and were pleased with the effort. Nut sandwiches pickles and coffee were served.
Suain Watkins Wyche Watkins, born in Guilford County North Carolina, died February 25 1904 at age seventy one. Daughter of William and Elizabeth Brown she moved to this state as a child and married Daniel Wyche Watkins on February 24 1855. Survived by a husband six children one sister and two brothers she joined the church early and remained active in faith until death. In her final hours she spoke of being ready to go to the beautiful land beyond.
The ceremony last evening at Greenfield united Daniel R. Winslow and Cora Jessup, sister of Mrs. Irvin Hill. The groom, a popular Riverside area resident, and the bride, a Greenfield native, are former Carthage High School students with many friends here. The Record joins in best wishes for their future.
Last Friday night marked the final talk of the Westland Lecture Course. Charles Robert Grant entertain ed the crowd by impersonating The Old Hamestead for about an hour and forty minutes. The town praises the series and looks forward to next year with hoped return by Mr Grant.
