Corn crop waits on rain as farmers cut wheat

The corn crop needs rain while farmers harvest wheat. A baby D N and Rosa Kennedy’s 11 month old son Clyde died of cholera infantum after a sudden illness last week with funeral at U B church and burial at Asbury. Local park at Morristown is a weekly nuisance with whisky gambling and drunks. Gwynneville blamed as dumping ground for those crowds.

Thanks for flowers and sympathy in our bereavement

Ice Cream Festival Near at Hill's Hotel

Knightstown folks gather for an ice cream festival on the hotel lawn hosted by Class 8 of the Friends Sunday school. Multiple local names attend and other community events are noted including baseball, visits, and transport schedules.

Reception Honors Hunt Family in York and Portland

Monday evening Mrs Hunt and Miss Hunt hosted a reception for G. L. Hunt and his bride from York Pa and C. G. Henley and wife from Portland Ind. Guests toured Sleepy Hollow in an excursion with a Chinese lantern lit veranda, a decorated dining car, and a center piece of hollyhocks and smilax. The gown table linen was woven by the groom's grandmother and used at her wedding sixty eight years earlier. Carl Henley managed the excursion crew and guests praised the trip. Informal Friday call between two and four o'clock with no invitations.

Resolutions of Respect for Mary Bundy

The W F M S and W C T U mourn the death of beloved sister Mary Bundy. Resolutions extend heartfelt sympathy to her grieving husband and children. A prayerful note asks divine comfort and unity in sorrow, signed by Lizzie Stone and Eliza Hii with titles Sec.

Ed Poe moved out of the neighborhood last week. Jabez Reddick and family visited George Ewing Sunday. Frank Newsom called on Frank Whitton Sunday. Peter Siler and family visited Mr and Mrs Ollie Siler Sunday. Farmers are busy wheat cutting with varying field quality.
