Revival closes as revival at Friends' Church yields lasting impact

The Friends' Church revival ends Tuesday but will continue through regular channels and follow-up meetings in other churches. Evangelist Grev W Willis led a brief but prolific campaign boosting youth engagement and church membership, with 125 men cheered for “Another Chance” and a concluding lecture on Quaker progress. Willis heads to Spiceland then May Quarterly Meeting plans a general revival through Walnut Ridge Quarter, with Carthage hosting 4 days of sessions. Leonard Clark of Rushville conducted business in Carthage.

Death of Will Jones in Carthage

Will Jones, aged eighteen, died Thursday February 16 at 4 p.m. in Carthage. Funeral held at his home with relatives Mrs Robert Hamilton, his sister, attending in Muncie. The obituary notes his Covington, D. birth and mentions his family. An adjacent health notice promotes Chamberlains Cough Remedy, claiming it cures colds and prevents pneumonia or consumption with no opium or morphine, sold by McClain in Carthage.
