Black Diamond road project ready to start

Col. Albert E. Boone announced in Cleveland that all contracts for the Black Diamond road to Port Royal have been signed with an English syndicate backing the venture. He said the line will cost 59 million dollars, be double tracked throughout, and pass through rich mineral districts with very slight grades.

Indiana Lawmakers Debate Bills on Negligence and Bounties

Indiana legislators considered and acted on a contributory negligence bill with changes to burden and hardship, the senate passed a county records inspection bill, and the house rejected a bounty proposal for sugar beet production. Other measures approved included a state board of pharmacy, regulation of poisons, fertilizer control, local option referendums, and a state bureau of labor protection focused on minors.
