James Dennis wife and son attended T. L. Hooker’s Sunday event. Rev Gottschall preached at Friends church Sunday morning. Frank Copeland acted here during Taushers absence last week. Prof Gaar and W E Johnston traveled to Dublin Thursday evening. Dr O K Gwyer read an inter paper on Typhoid fever before Henry County Medical association at New Castle Thursday. Rev Watson preached first sermon of the year at Presbyterian church Sunday night. Mozart Riley Club preparing a comedy drama for January game time.
The new Methodist Episcopal church in Carthage is nearing completion. The contractor Frank Tweedy is pushing the work to finish. The brick and Bedford stone building features a 40 by 60 foot audience room, an octagonal 26 by 36 foot lecture room, a 71 foot tower, slate covering, a 500 seating capacity, and a basement furnace room. Estimated total cost about $6,000.
