The Carthage Record and all accounts will be taken over by J Edwin Jay who will manage the office and edit the Record after this week’s issue. Readers are urged to settle old accounts with W G Allan as new books and business start. Local notices cover a flurry of visits illnesses travel and community events across town.
Mr and Mrs Herman Munden of Kennard visited Dayton M Kyser family last week. A Beety pound party occurred Thursday evening hosted by Walnut Ridge residents. Prof Jesse H Brown gave a chalk talk at Westland last Saturday night to pleased audiences. The Walnut Ridge and Carthage auxiliaries of the Women's Foreign Missionary Society held a union meeting at C. H. Parker's home Friday afternoon, reporting a pleasant profitable gathering. Walnut Ridge school building stores smoked badly Tuesday morning, prompting dismissal for the day and steps to prevent a repeat.
Mr Sam Mason and wife visited J F Leisure's last Tuesday. Jesse Reddick visited Charlie Henley the weekend. Lewis Reddick and wife visited Arthur Braden's Sunday. Jefferson Reddick and wife visited Milton Reddick's Sunday. Gracie Reddick visited Noah Reddick's Saturday night and Sunday. Pearl Reddick called on cousins Laura and Emma Reddick Sunday evening.
