News Boys at Winona Lake Outing by The News

The Indianapolis News organized a charitable outing for 140 Indianapolis news boys to Winona Park. They toured the healthful grounds, received meals and clothing, and joined in singing and grace as mothers cared for them. A 17 year old mother bore twin babies amid the scene.

Old Settlers Meeting Date Moved to Aug 14

John Kizer Era in Indiana Long Living to Ninetythree

John Kizer born December 1 1808 in Verna Germany, later emigrated with Martha Waederholdt to America in 1852. He farmed, served briefly as a soldier, faced a disfiguring injury, helped build roads, worked in a pork packing establishment, and aged to 93 while remaining active in farming and gardening in Carthage Indiana.
