Epworth League Convention Meets in Carthage
The ninth annual Epworth League Conference of the Connersville district gathered at the M E Church with 145 delegates and many visitors. Miss Harriet Grimes addressed Christ's Fruit Trees and Loren Edwards spoke on the Epworthian as a patriot. The conference closed with sermons by Rev A W Lamport and Rev T J Anthony bearing on practical Christianity and missions.

Picnicking Party Visits Gracious Gravesite in Carthage Area
A party including Mr and Mrs Oliver Overman and others from the S and C Home traveled to Miss Emma Overman's grave north of Carthage for a day of picnicking. Rain forced shelter at Mr Joseph Sattler's. they dined on ham, fried chicken, fruit, lemonade, ice cream, and cake and left with pleasant memories. A stray black shoat about one hundred pounds left Allen W Newsom's feed pen.
