Town considers Clark proposal for water works and arc lighting
Last Tuesday townspeople met at Newsom's hall to hear C G Clark present a plan for a water works and electric light plant. The plan calls for sixteen city arc lights at 800 dollars yearly and incandescent private lighting at 50 to 20 cents per bulb tier, plus water for lawns at 5 dollars per year. Voters supported improved lighting and fire protection, though no city fire service was proposed. The town council will soon review a definite proposition.
