Johnson Victorious In Henry County Returns
Henry A. Johnson wins Henry county by about 100 votes and will receive all 36 county votes for the Sixth district congressional nomination in the New Castle convention on the 16th. Watson had strong showings in some townships and weaker results elsewhere. Johnson supporters express surprise at township results and expected a larger majority. Watson sends a letter of congratulations to Johnson and the Indianapolis Journal will publish their thank you note today.

Rushville report: George W Offutt and Joseph Moore wealthy Posey township farmers are fined 17 dollars each by Squire Alsman Arlington for betting. Moor gambled 100 dollars to Offutt's 5 that tenant Andy Moore would not plow this spring. Both men deposited checks in a local bank. Moore says he will plow when field conditions allow. Offutt appeals.

Cavern Strike During Gas Well Drilling Near West Liberty
