Dr J G Lewis of Rushville Indiana will visit the store on Thursday Sept 26 for eye testing. He guarantees the work and urges eye health tests for school children with special attention to young eyes.
Walker and Reames plan a big farm and stock sale on Wednesday September 25. J B Tribby set a public sale at his Gwynneville area farm residence two miles northeast for Friday September 20. Harry Goldman schedules a public sale on Tuesday October 1 including stock farm implements corn in field and household goods four miles south of Carthage and four miles south of Franklin Church. Branson and Mrs A O Hill were in Indianapolis Saturday.
Rev A N Marlatt longtime church and community leader died at his Connersville home after months of illness. He was born June 27 1835 in Wayne County and studied at Whitewater Center ville and De Pauw University Greencastle where his eight children later graduated. Funeral services were held at the First M E Church Connersville and interment followed at Dodridge Chapel.
The Town Council approved a new Ajax chemical fire engine and will test it to verify performance. Officials claim it can pump 3,000 to 5,000 pails of water and project vertical and perpendicular streams of 80 ft and 60 ft respectively, with a demonstration planned on arrival.

Charlie E White and Son opened a three day hardware store event that ended Saturday night while J O Nel son's public sale of vehicles and farming implements drew a large crowd Saturday afternoon. Everette Button of Knightstown acted as Nelson's auctioneer with assistance from P J Sattler Verne Plummer and stove line representatives. Nelson showcased Hoosier stoves and made several White & Son sales. Mrs Mary Ball and Miss Ruth White served hot biscuits and coffee on the Eternal range and many useful souvenirs were given to ladies.
Cleo Lummis, farm hand for Rev. Charles S. Winslow, dislocated his knee when a wagon load of tomatoes toppled as he braced for an oncoming automobile. He was driving a horse and mule. Mrs Heims called Rue P. Henley for help, and Winslow brought Lummis to a physician.
