Miss Halie Reames and Harry Logan were married Friday evening in Morristown. Logan is the son of Mrs Fannie Logan and owns a garage at Gwynneville. They plan to reside in Morristown.
The author thanks neighbors and others who helped fight the fire on the tenant farm and saved the dwelling.
George W. Saylor aged 70 years died Sunday afternoon at 5 o'clock at the home of his son William Saylor on the W. P. Newsom farm after a week of illness. He resided here years ago and recently came from a hospital in Ann Arbor Michigan. Survived by five sons Joseph of Monroe James in the West William southeast of here and Charles and Rice of Milton and two daughters Mrs Sadie Pierson of Oxford and Mrs Lula Albertsein of Monroe Michigan two brothers in Kentucky. Funeral held Wednesday at 2 pm at the home of William Saylor in Knightstown conducted by Rev. Sheffield of the M E church and burial in Carthage Cemetery. W O Moore funeral director.
The marriage of Miss Emma J. Peacock daughter of Mr and Mrs William L. Peacock of Lapel to Leon A. Krueger of Minneapolis Minnesota took place at 4 30 o clock Wednesday afternoon at the Lapel Methodist parsonage. The single ring ceremony was read by Rev Mr Wickersham before a fireplace banked with flowers. Piano selections To a Wild Rose and Souvenir were played by Miss Mary Harris of Anderson. The bride wore a gown and was attended by Miss Myra McDaniel of Carthage as maid of honor. Walter Elston of Lapel served as best man. After the ceremony a two course luncheon followed at the bride’s home. Guests included Mr and Mrs White Miller of Loveland Ohio Mrs Al McDaniel of Carthage and Lewis Damon Peacock. The bride formerly worked as an operator for the telephone company here and with Indiana Bell Telephone Co in Anderson. The groom is an electrician. They left for Indianapolis and Chicago en route to Minneapolis to reside at 3840 Thirteenth Avenue South.

Surveyors visit the paper mill grounds as a sale may be imminent and the plant prepared to operate within weeks. A Big Four crew installs 90 lb rails from the cut south of town to Rushville, 44 men staying in Carthage for a month. The DeSchipper Canning Co factory runs until 10 pm handling tomatoes from local and Gwynneville plants, employing about 175 people with 50 peelers short of demand. A boiler pipe blew out and power was briefly off Sunday. Albert Hill offers general motor trucking services in town.
In 1870 the Canterbury convocation formed a revision committee to update the English Bible translation. The work, a global Christian endeavor, spanned decades with the New Testament completed in 407 meetings by 1881 and the Old Testament finished by 1884. The Apocrypha appeared in 1895 and funding came from Clarendon and Pitt presses. The revised version is used in churches but not authorized, not replacing the King James Version.
Three hurt in crash near Westland when Mrs Donald Ruby and her 5 year old son Clyde collided with a Shelbyville family. Mrs Ruby suffered a head cut and severe bruises. the Ruby car overturned. A woman in the other car was slightly injured and a wheel was torn off.
Mrs Henry Haywood died Sunday night at her Indianapolis home. Her body was moved to Greenfield Tuesday for funeral services at the Friends Church and burial in Park Cemetery. The Town Council held a regular Monday session and set the next year's tax levy with unchanged rates.
Individual notices show Robert Stanley at Western Union in Miami Florida and Jacob Fox now managing Mull farm after health improvements. Miss Pearle Coffin leaves Sarasota for Miami and Mr and Mrs Joe Goar hosted relatives from Michigan Ohio and Tipton last week.
A barn one mile south of Walnut Ridge on the Manche farm burned about 8 p m Thursday night along with feed hay straw a tool shed and chicken house. The dwelling was saved by firefighters. Origin of the fire is not known. Bert Sharer and Betty and Robert Moore were in Muncie Sunday.
