Carthage defeated Fairland 9 to 3 in 14 innings to capture the Arlington Softball League title. McClurg slugged a homer and four straight singles helped break the game open in the 14th. Pitcher Cecil Tague fanned six, yielded seven hits, as Bob McCorkle led Carthage with four hits including a double and a triple.

Carthage edged Bargain Barn 1 0 in 11 innings to claim the title as Bob McCorkle was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded for the winning run.
