State Fair Opens With Wartime 4-H Exhibit
Indiana 4 H club members showcase livestock canning baking sewing and other home economics projects at the state fairground. Prizes exceed 10000 including scholarships cash awards and trips to Chicago while enhancing competition amid Army air forces use of fair buildings. German Prisoner Labor Camp Brought to Morristown
Announcement says a POW labor camp is to be set up in Morristown to relieve labor shortages in 17 canneries. About 400 German war prisoners will be housed in tents with field kitchens and sanitation facilities, supervised, for four to six weeks, mostly to staff tomato and corn canneries.

Local Men Injured in Automobile Wreck Near Carthage
Roy Loveall thirteen and Cecil Rus sell Brunson thirty five, both residents near Carthage, were injured Friday on U S 52 one mile west of Rushville when their car left the pavement and rolled over several times. Mason Newlin and Roscoe Colley of Kentucky also suffered injuries. The auto was demolished and rescuers had difficulty extricating the four from the wrecked vehicle before all were taken to a hospital.
