Judge Emmert to Speak at Carthage Rally

Judge James J. Emmert of Shelbyville will be principal speaker at a Republican rally Tuesday evening October 29 at the Carthage school building. The program begins at 7 30 p m with entertainment and school band music. Everyone is urged to attend this big rally.

Native Of China Speaks To Carthage Service Club

Dr Ting Su native Chinese and Indiana University faculty member spoke to Carthage Service Club at East Street Christian Church during a ladies night. He discussed the Chinese Japanese conflict and praised Americans as friends. The event featured a feet identification game and a shoe surprise. Next meeting set for November 4 at Fletcher Methodist Church.

Home-coming Services Draw Many Visitors to Fletcher Methodist

The Fletcher Methodist church held its annual home-coming services last Sunday with high attendance and twenty-nine visitors from nearby towns. Musicians performed during both morning and afternoon sessions, including instrumental and vocal numbers. Dr. J. T. Scull of Rushville delivered a sermon on "The Compassion of Jesus" and shared memories of his past pastorate.
