Morris Gibson age 25 of Carthage died in a Columbus hospital after a Sunday afternoon wreck on state highway 31 six miles south of Columbus. Paul Joyner 21 of Arlington died Friday after a Thursday crash into two mules. Born June 8 1915 in Russellville he was Arlington High School class of 1933 and a former Arlington basketball player. Survivors include parents three sisters three brothers and a grandmother. funeral Sunday at 2 p.m. in Arlington Cemetery.
Mr. William N. Holloway of Greencastle marked his 101st birthday on Sunday October 18. Born in Carthage, he is a Civil War veteran of the 139th Indiana Infantry and has voted Republican since 1856 for John C. Fremont. He credits longevity to temperance with tobacco and alcohol. He is likely Indiana’s oldest Odd Fellow, initiated into Putnam Lodge No. 45, I O O F, last year.

The bride wore a black velvet gown with metallic accessories and a corsage of white flowers. The couple left on a short wedding trip after the ceremony.

He moved to Indiana taught school, married Eleanor Commons in 1839 and later Melissa Paxson. served as Rush County Township Trustee and County Commissioner during Civil War era, with ten children born from first marriage and two living.
Greensburg attorney Rollin Turner spoke to a Raleigh audience Tuesday night critiquing President Roosevelts policies. Newhouse, Rush County Republican chairman, presided.

The Rush County Women's Republican club will hold a tea in the American Legion rooms on North Morgan street Wednesday October 28 at 2 00 pm. Mrs Lambert the club chairwoman urges all Republican women to attend with good speakers and music for all attendees.

Brown notes Gray praised anti Roosevelt audiences and endorsements while claiming to back Roosevelt policies.
In 1932 we imported fewer than 100000 head of cattle while under Roosevelt tariff policies imports grew to 364000 head in 1935.
Rush county Republicans plan active reception for Governor Alf Landon in Indianapolis on Saturday. William Winship of Rushville named as Rush county delegate to coordinate with state Landon Knox clubs for events. Landon expected mid afternoon with parade and briefings before an open air speech at the state fair grounds if weather permits.
A four county Republican rally and torchlight parade are set for Rushville Friday night October 23. Dudley Martin an influential Negro orator from Illinois will speak at Memorial gym at 8 00 p m. The torchlight procession will run through downtown Rushville an hour before the speech. Republicans from Shelby Decatur Fayette and Rush counties are invited along with any others who wish to attend.
A six vehicle caravan carrying thirty one Carthagenians toured Spring Mill Park near Mitchell on October 16. They explored the hat shop distillery nursery and flower garden then the old mill and sawmill powered by water. They visited the post office apothecary cave and Donaldson cave boat trip returned to the village and to the machines. The day closed with plans for the February 2 meeting.
Adrian Rigsbee aged 77 a farmer living southwest of Arlington died suddenly Monday at two o clock He was born July 27 1859 and spent his life near Arlington Married twice with three daughters one deceased Survived by daughters Mrs Ed Arsden near Gwynneville and Mrs Iva McFadden of Miami Fla Three grandchildren and one great grandchild He was stricken while hauling fodder with his grandson Rigsbee Farlow Funeral services were held Thursday at Arlington cemetery with Rev Will Northam officiating.
