Seventeen members of the Young People class of the Friends church met at the home of Mr and Mrs Guyatt led by Rev Frank Guyatt. Dr Jean R La Vanchy 25 a newly practicing physician in Carthage was found dead in his office Sunday night. Coroner’s verdict cites death by poison with no stated motive. Born June 4 1907 in Fortville he was a Indiana Medical College graduate of 1931. Survived by parents Mr and Mrs Robert C LaVanchy Fortville three sisters and a brother. Funeral services held at Fortville on Wednesday.

Dr. LaVanchy son of Robert C and Viola LaVanchy was born June 24 1907 in Fortville Indiana. He grew up in Indianapolis and studied at Arsenal Technical High School Butler University and Indiana University School of Medicine graduating in 1931 then served as intern at City Hospital before entering private practice in Carthage Indiana. He was a respected physician and devout Methodist member, survived by his parents three sisters and one brother and his fiancée Miss Helen Kuykendall.
