Lions Stage Hallowe'en Masked Events for October
Carthage Lions plan two public events this month. A bridge and euchre party at the den on Thursday October 19 starts at 8:00 pm with 30 cent admission. George Hinshaw 61 of near Orleans died at 5 a m Thursday after five weeks illness and a second stroke. Born in Carthage he ran a tin shop and later bought a farm near Orleans. Survivors: wife Margaret Manning Hinshaw, son John of Carthage, brother Robert of Rushville, two grandchildren. Funeral at East Street Christian church Saturday. Interment Town Cemetery.

Former Resident Blane Sutton Dies in Sandusky Ohio
Word was received this week of the death of Blane Sutton, 61, at his Sandusky home. A native of Carthage, he lived in this area about forty years ago and was survived by his widow. Sutton had managed and started Kresge Wilson Ten Cent Stores in Indianapolis and other cities, tied to National Twenty-five Cent Stores in New York and the East, held a half interest in a San Francisco restaurant, and owned Cedar Point concessions in Ohio.
