Free Ham and Bean Supper in Carthage Planned

A free ham and bean supper is planned for Friday night October 21 at the Community Center in Carthage. Rep. Richard Roudebush will be the principal speaker with a 8 o’clock talk. Rushville Lions Guests Visit Carthage Club Monday

Carthage Lions Club hosts Rushville Lions at the Community Center Monday evening for a program on International Farm Youth Exchange. Sweden visitor Rolf Ericksson, 21, staying with Francis Koch in Rushville, will present. He arrived in Indiana in August and will attend Purdue University for several weeks before returning home. 21st Carthage Fall Festival Recap and Profits Declared

The 21st Carthage Fall Festival closed with strong turnout and high spirits. Funds raised for the Community Center totaled about $475 with events like the smorgasbord and talent show contributing substantial sums and many donations still arriving for final accounting. The parade featured 37 units and a crowd-pleasing program, while prizes were awarded in multiple divisions and bands showcased in a marching contest.
