Semi-Trailer and Auto Crash on North Main Street
A semi driven by Carl Carson Sr. and a car driven by John Stanley collided on North Main Street in Knightstown last Thursday around 7 p.m. The semi appeared to be turning left onto Sixth Street as the Stanley car passed. Left front fender and bumper of the semi were damaged. the Stanley car sustained major damage to the right side. No injuries were reported.

Local Soldier Receives Medal for Valor in Korea
Pvt. Richard A. Marshall, son of Mr and Mrs Forrest C Marshall of Carthage Indiana, earned the Combat Infantryman Badge with the 2d Infantry Division for outstanding duty under fire in Korea. The division is noted for battles on Heartbreak Ridge in October 1951 and Old Baldy Hill taken this summer. Marshall enlisted in October 1951 and joined the 2d Division in September.

Sunday night the ministers and laity from Walnut Ridge Carthage Friends Christian Methodist Nazarene and Wesleyan churches gathered at the Christian church for the annual Thanksgiving worship service. Rev Chandler of the Nazarene led the invocation and Rev Basil Stultz welcomed attendees. Rev Arie V. Faris read Psalm 34 and Rev H D Rich offered prayers.
