The Rush County extension office and 4-H club council announce a banquet on Wednesday night November 28 at St. Pauls Methodist Church Rushville to honor 4-H members. Indiana 4-H leader Harry Ainsworth will speak with A C Sharp of Purdue noted on the program. Guests include Robert White and Donald Staten Jr two top livestock judges from Ripley township.

Capt Frederick Fitch discharged from Camp Chaffee Arkansas and returned to 3720 N Pennsylvania St Indianapolis. Wooten Fitch in Navy on Leyte near a small island. En route via Panama Canal the ship met trouble and the crew transferred to another ship then to San Francisco. They lacked letters and money for basic needs.

Indiana veterans win record free hunting fishing permits
The Indiana Department of Conservation reports free veterans permits issued rose to 55000 by November 1 and expected to reach 75000 by year end, surpassing 1941 totals. Last year produced 42442. The 1945 Legislature authorized temporary licenses for all veterans with honorable discharge papers, and plans for permanent permits begin January. Milton Matter says issuance method for permanent permits is not yet decided.

County Corn Show Set For December 28 29
The county corn and products show will be held December 28 and 29 at the courthouse. About 100 4-H members are enrolled in the corn club project. Exhibits must be shown in at least two classes with a complete record book. Classes include several corn and soybeans divisions with premiums to sixteenth place. Exhibits due by 10:00 Friday and may be removed after 3:00 Saturday.

Funeral for David S Foster held in Brookville
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 10 AM in a Brookville funeral home for David Sherman Foster with burial in Moscow cemetery. He died Saturday at 10 AM at the State hospital in Richmond after living in Carthage. Born November 13, 1866, he was the son of Jonathan and Jane Foster and survived by his widow Leora Foster and two brothers William of Michigan and Riley of Muncie plus several nieces and nephews.
