New Management at Carthage Hotel Relocated to Luther GIBson Property
Mr and Mrs G W Richardson who ran the Carthage Hotel since March 17 move operations to the Luther Gibson property on South Walnut Street. William Richardson, the brothers, takes over hotel management. The hotel is owned by Everette McFarlan of Dunreith.

New Planing Mill Debuts At Tweedy Yard
The Tweedy lumber yards introduce a 60 by 32 foot planing mill department now partially operating for yard and outside work. Two compact motorized machines replace older bulky equipment, including a wood worker unit for planing and joinery and a swinging cut-off saw. The building features fifteen windows, concrete floor, western and southern entrances, and will later add electric lighting.
