Ten Year Anniversary of Rev Holwager's Ministry
The Rev. Holwager marked ten years in the ministry, begun at New Castle while still in school. He preached in Shirley for six months half time, then a three year full time stint starting in 1927. The Shirley church burned in July 1927 and rebuilt by February 1928. He moved to Carthage in 1929, preached briefly in 1930, studied at Butler University in Indianapolis, and served Hannegan and Big Flat Rock. He returned to Carthage in 1933 and has preached there since.

Mrs. Ella Stockdale widow of Chas. Stockdale died at her Arlington home Thursday morning at 6 30. She was 65 and had long illness. Miss Marjorie McCarty daughter of Omar McCarty died Monday at 4 p m in New Castle. She was twenty nine and had lived in New Castle for several years. Survivors include her father a brother Paul and a sister Katherine. An aunt Mrs James O Neal and three uncles including O C McCarty of Carthage. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 10 a m with burial in Carthage Cemetery. D P Dunn funeral director and Rev Myers officiated.
