Mrs John Jordan escaped injury Tuesday night when her car slid off the road west of Carthage returning from the home of Mrs Harold Moore. Damages to the Jordan car were about 250 dollars. Trooper Jim Kleiman investigated. Birth announced for Michael Kennedy Gorman born October 13 1962 to Richard and Rose Marie Gorman of Flemingsburg Kentucky former Carthage resident.

Moore family returns from vacation to Carthage
Mr and Mrs Forrest Moore returned to Carthage last Thursday from a two week vacation. They spent a week with their son Major F N Moore Mrs Moore and their two grandchildren in Midwest City Oklahoma. Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 p.m. for Mrs Lucy Smith Butler 82 at Hampton Funeral Home. She died at her Carthage home after five years of declining health. Born January 3 1880 in Ellet County Kentucky she was daughter of Hade and Nancy Smith. Survived by one daughter Daisy McClurg seven sons and many grandchildren.
