Kokomo Students Dominate State Algebra Contest
Danny Wells of Kokomo High School won the school Algebra contest and then the Indiana University state contest on April 30. Ten boys, one chapter sweetheart Jane Hunt and one chapter advisor were auctioned off May 10 after the PTO supper. The group will work May 14 with buyers paying hourly rates ranging from 50 cents to 3 75 dollars for various students.

Poppy Day Date Set For Carthage
Memorial poppies for Poppy Day in Carthage will be worn May 27 and 28. They were made by disabled American war veterans at the Veterans Hospital under Mary Draper of the Carthage Auxiliary Unit. More than 600 poppies were received this year for distribution by American Legion Auxiliary volunteers.

Two year directors are Lewis Lafuse and Parvel Moore. Wendell Adams is chaplain. The meeting featured a fire prevention demonstration by students of Jerry Montgomery and plans for summer activities. Charters were presented to the local Boy Scout troop and Cub Pack sponsored by the club.
