Radio Pictures presents Millie at the New Alhambra theater May 3 4 5. Helen Twelvetrees headlines a cast of top screen stars in a dramatic film adaptation from Donald Henderson Clarke’s best selling novel.
The film traces Millies life from a country village to Broadway ascent with Miss Twelvetrees delivering a standout performance. Lilyan Tashman Robert Ames Joan Blondell John Halliday James Hall and Carmelita Greaghty provide strong support under Jhon Francis Dillon’s direction. The adaptation preserves the novel’s spirit and delivers a dramatic climax.
Born in Brooklin New York and New York City, Lilyan Tashman and Robert Ames gained fame on the Broadway stage and in motion pictures. Ames starred in The Voice of the City and The Trespasser with Gloria Swanson. Tashman appeared in Ziegfeld Follies and films including The Cat Creeps and Madonna of the Streets.

Gains in the woolen industry and a 20 percent February rise in raw wool consumption in New England mills bolster prices, though individuals expect only modest increases until overall business improves. The Indiana Wool Growers Association, tied to the National Wool Marketing Corporation, offers an initial 13 cent per pound pool payment with a second distribution based on government plan. Meanwhile Lizzie Sandefur and Elmer Sandefur plan moves to nearby properties on East Fifth Street from Bert Sharer's recently purchased holdings.
