The Checker Board notes Mr Stevens and his family moved from the farm to J. A. Lineback's property at Walnut and Henley streets.
J N Goar, age 81, a Civil War veteran, died recently at his home in Henry County. He is survived by two sons, Jot and Benjamin Goar.
The couple were married in Detroit Michigan on March 15 and will reside there. Elbert Wrennick, a linotype operator on the Detroit Free Press, is a nephew of Mrs W T Hill of this place.
A flock of about thirty blue herons, known as cranes, returned Saturday to the Clyde Henley farm east of town. The birds typically stay until fall each year.

Walter W. Haydock 59, resident south of Greenfield, died Sunday morning at his home three miles southeast of Greenfield after a complication of diseases. The obituary notes his widow, a son in Charleston Illinois, a sister Mrs Jessup and brothers C C Haydock and B B Haydock. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Friends Church Greenfield with burial in Park Cemetery. The column also lists Holy Week events and local community notices.

Mr and Mrs Jerome Scott, en route to Ashland Wisconsin, after a winter at Ft. Mead Florida, are expected Friday to stay with Mr and Mrs Alonzo Kizer. Scott was a Carthage resident for 35 years and worked on the Big Four railroad built through here in 1891, later farming near this place. For thirty years he has been a railroad mail clerk out of Ashland. Paul Scott, their son, works in a Chicago bank.
John S. Souder of Greenfield fell ill from gasoline exhaust in his garage while warming up the motor. He was found unconscious, remained semi conscious for hours, and began to improve on Monday after exposure to fumes.
Friends Bible School will hold a market Saturday at 1 p.m. in the room west of the light office.
