Kappa Kappa Sigma Sorority Event At Community Center

Kappa Ka Sigma's Sorority members gathered Tuesday night at the Community Center with nineteen members present. Mrs. Hugh Weber presided and Mrs. Noah Brooks filed the secretary's report. Plans for the May first and second convention were discussed along with a party for senior girls. Bridge and canasta prizes were awarded to Mrs. Noah Brooks Mrs. George McNabb Mrs. Claude Pearson and Mrs. Robert White. Refreshments followed the social period.

Soldier Creswell participates in SNAP exercise at McGregor Range

Army Specialist Four Lawrence A Creswell of Carthage Indiana took part in a Short Notice Annual Practice exercise with Battery C 3d Missile Battalion 517th Artillery from Union Lake Michigan at the McGregor Guided Missile N M on March 14 17. Creswell entered service in 1962 and is a Carthage High School graduate. S/Sgt Ronald Whitfield from Carthage visits Creswell's parents and prepares for a year assignment in Korea after serving at McGuire AFB.

Revival Planned At East Street Church

Local Women Win Bowling Tourney

Tom's Peanut Co. women's bowling team from Knightstown won the Rush County Bowling Tournament last weekend. The Darth Knight Lanes Woman's League team scored 2778 including handicap to take the team title and earned individual trophies plus a total of $40 for the five players: Mary Lou Gray Shirley Lukens Betty Brooks Judy Jackson and Bonnie Drake.

Greater Indianapolis Antique Show at Murat Temple

The 32nd semi annual Greater Indianapolis Antique Show opens March 25 at the Murat Temple and runs through March 28 with hours 1:00 to 10:30 daily. last day closes at 6:00. Fifty five exhibitors present a $500,000 display of antiques from states including Washington DC New York Florida Illinois Ohio Indiana Michigan Missouri Kentucky and Iowa. Five of the 22 Indiana dealers are from Indianapolis. Exhibits feature Art Glass jewelry Haviland China silver Victorian glass coins stamps ornate lamps and Indiana Greentown glass among others. Some booths showcase large decorative items for decorators. Reproductions are prohibited by contract and new merchandise is excluded.

Rites Held For Father Monday

Hiram W. Renfro 66 of Knightstown died Friday at St. John Hospital Anderson after a six month illness. A World War I veteran he worked 15 years at L S S C Knightstown and retired from General Motors Anderson. Survived by wife Lillian and 14 children plus 20 grandchildren. Funeral Monday 2 pm at Butcher Funeral Home Knightstown with interment Glen Cove Cemetery.
