Indiana farmers earned about 1 028 billion dollars from marketings in 1959, six percent below 1958. Indiana ranks eighth in the nation for cash receipts, with 1959 marking the ninth straight year above a billion. Realized net income per farm fell 20 percent, to 2188, while gross income averaged 8015 and expenses rose three percent. Livestock receipts declined 13 percent, crops up 11 percent, and direct government payments totaled 17 million amid Soil Bank changes.
