Lions club members hosted a wives night with a baked chicken dinner in the den. Arthur Winfield presided in Harold Ruby’s absence as contest losers provided entertainment. A humorous letter from Mrs Winfield and from Pvt McClarnon drew laughs. John Allen Ruby played piano and Ross Tweedy won bingo prizes. Next meeting set for March 27 at 7:30.

Funeral services were held Monday at 2 30 for Joseph P White who died last Thursday in a Colorado Springs hospital. Born May 2 1915 in Carthage he lived in the community most of his life and married Erma Perisho December 7 1943 in Nebraska. Survivors include wife parents two sisters one brother grandmother and an aunt. Interment was Riverside cemetery Carthage with pallbearers Hoyt Addison Lawrence Wales John White Ralph Mosier Russell Siler and Russell Donovan.
