The Mixers Home Ec Club met March 2 at the home of Mrs. Claude Butler south of Raleigh with Mrs. Howard Linville assisting. Hazel Eakins presided and Honard Sullivan Jr. delivered the secretary report. Linville led devotions and Robert White presented a safety lesson on Safe Driving. Pete Ewing gave the Citizenship report on Foreign Marketing and Its Effect on Farmers. A planning committee for the State Fair Exhibit was named with Leonard Sullivan Jr. as chairman and Pete Ewing as a member. An exhibit installation committee included Lewis Lafuse as chairman and Marvin Johnson and Ed Carroll as members. The lesson on Basic Costumes and Accessories was given by Robert White and Lause.

Ira Meade, 57, principal of Cadiz High School and former Carthage principal, died Saturday after a two week illness. A Mt. Summit resident, he had served in the Henry County school system since 1956. He is survived by widow Margaret Miller Earnest and sisters Ethel Fulton Cambridge City and Floyd Collins Syracuse Indiana.
