Ripley Farm Bureau met Monday night at the local school with 40 members present. The Triple A group also met, with singing led by Mrs. Fred McManus and musical items by Charlotte Moore and Lois Reames. Rev. Samuel M. Riggle gave a devotional, Donald Ruby conducted the business, and minutes were read by Howard Winslow. An Auditorium and Kids Kanteen committee was named, talks on hatching and postwar planning were given by Alden Coulter, Wilbur Kendall, and Judge Marshall.

Death of Mrs. Ercell Enos in Indianapolis
Mrs. Ercell Enos widow of Karl Enos died Monday night at Robert Long hospital Indianapolis after weeks as a patient. Born in Waldron she lived much of her life in Rush county and was survived by a brother and four sisters. Funeral at Gowdy Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Walker. Milroy Cemetery burial. She was a niece of Dr. J. T. Scull of Rushville.

Former Carthage Resident Entered Major Hospital
Ertle Stevens, formerly of Carthage and now in Anderson, was taken to Major hospital in Shelbyville Monday for a major operation on Wednesday. He received blood transfusions Tuesday from Mrs. John Gates Mrs. Luther Hall and Ora Chance a nephew near Ogden. The Stevens couple lived on the Gates farm north of Carthage before moving to Anderson.
