Drownings Claim Seaman Lawrence Maze in Minnesota Lake
Seaman 2c Lawrence Maze, 19, of near Knightstown, died in a drowning on Lake Calhoun near Minneapolis during a canoe trip. He entered the Navy from Rush County in 1943 and was to receive a petty officer rating in July. He was born in 1925 and trained at Great Lakes before serving at Wold Chamberlain NAS. Surviving: his parents, two half siblings, and two half sisters. No funeral arrangements were made at press time.
