Mrs C G Hill Breaks Arm at Home

Mrs C G Hill tripped over a rug at her home Sunday around 10 o’clock, breaking her left arm near the shoulder. She was transported by Thom son ambulance to Rush Memorial hospital, with Mrs Mareiedl Hinshaw accompanying her.

Indiana city and town officialsback a higher state gasoline tax to fund roads. An Indiana Municipal League poll found 335 of 404 officials support a tax boost, favoring a 2 cent increase over 1 cent and even an 8 cent option. The current 4 cent rate is among the lowest nationwide.

Garden Tour Stops Planned at Carthage

Six stops have been planned for the annual 4-Hand Garden tour in Rush County. The event, set for Thursday July 12, will feature Purdue garden expert W. B. Ward guiding discussions at each stop. The Carthage Vacation Bible School children will perform at 7:30 p m Sunday evening at the Community Center. The program caps two weeks of work with handicraft displays for parents and friends.
