Seven year old AMert Lee Shepherd son of Mr and Mrs Frank Shepherd suffered a painful injury when he stepped on a nail near Carthage. He received treatment for lockjaw after the incident on Sunday.

Fred E. Sohn, aged 18, of this place was named administrator of the Central office by seven operators from Container Corporation of America. The group includes three from Wabash and one each from Carthage, Knightstown, Anderson, and Cincinnati Ohio. They have pooled truck facilities to meet General Order No 4 from the Office of Defense Transportation to conserve tires and equipment by cutting empty miles.
The Republican State Convention, set for June 18 at the State Fairgrounds Coliseum, will feature US Senator Raymond E. Willig as keynote and James M. Tucker as permanent chairman. James E. Watson will address the gathering on The Republican Party as I know it. Ralph F. Gates announced officers including Mrs. E C Rumpler as secretary and Ed win Turnock as chief sergeant at arms.

On Memorial Day the Rev Samuel M Riggle conducted the funeral for the infant daughter of Mr and Mrs Prentice Howe of New Castle. Burial took place in Riverside cemetery.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Kennedy of Rittman Ohio spent the weekend with Ralph Kennedy’s parents Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Kennedy and his sister Mrs. Hubert Brosius of Knightstown and Mrs. Walter Nelson and Mr. Nelson.
