Mantle's two way homer feat noted in AL history
The Sporting News traces Mickey Mantle's May 13 left and right handed homers against the Tigers and recalls Johnny Lucadello doing the same for the Browns in 1940 against the Yankees. Lucadello's two shots came in different innings off Russo and Sundra with both hits lasting into that season. The piece also notes umpire signaling quirks and oddball quotes from players and managers while mentioning a $100000 home run offer at Sick Stadium for the Rainiers.
